A True Getaway From the Everyday
Come and stay our primary lodge which is located right only a short boat ride from the Community of Webequie. Our three bedroom log cabin accommodates up to six people in three separate bedrooms. Our new facility is complete with a shower and indoor plumbing.
The lodge offers a spectacular view of the rising sun and the community of Webequie. Wake up with freshly brewed coffee or enjoy native tea over an open fire.
We also offer a more secluded retreat on Coomb Lake for those who want to enjoy canoeing or exploring on a smaller body of water. The lake is 60 air miles north of Webequie and is accessible only by float plane from the community. This site is best suited for those people looking for a total outdoor experience as opposed to spending all of your time fishing. The fishing is good at this location but on this smaller lake, casting as opposed to trolling is the best method of catching fish. The location is ideally suited for small corporate or family retreats. In the fall, you can take the opportunity to participate in a moose hunt.
Our professional staff are very knowledgeable about Ojibway culture, as well as, the lands and resources in the Webequie area. We live it everyday! Our hosts are friendly, outgoing and can provide you with a wealth of information on the community’s history and culture while at the same time being excellent fishing guides.
You will experience the customs of our modern community and through stories and legends from the elders themselves, learn how we used to live in past. We will show you how to prepare and enjoy our traditional foods. You will also have the opportunity of meeting our community artists who will gladly share the knowledge of how their beautifully unique works are constructed.
The Family: The Suganaqueb Family has extensive experience in the pursuit of adventure. Raised in our culture, we learned how to survive and prosper from great teachers, our late Father and Grandfather. Their dream was to share the “Ways of the North” with visitors. They started this adventure, and we carry on their dream. We cherish our culture and will proudly share it with all who visit us. Our traditional skills are passed on to each family member in order that we can retain our cultural identity while at the same time prospering in today’s world.

Winisk Lake - 3 Day Angling Package
$745 per person (based on parties of 6)
$799 per person (based on parties of 4)
Package includes flight via Nakina Air Service from Thunder Bay or Nakina direct to Webequie. Transportation from the airport to our office is provided as well as boat transportation direct to your cabin.
Flight leaves at 10:30 on day of departure and returns at 3:30 p.m on your return date. This means that you will arrive in Webequie around noon which leaves plenty of time to fish on your first Day!
Price includes accommodation (2 nights) shore lunches prepared by your guides, guide fees, and all other meals (prepared by your guides).
You are allowed 60 pounds of gear per person. Excess gear will be charged at a rate of $1.40 per pound from Thunder Bay to only $0.40 per pound from Nakina. Plan carefully, you do not need a lot of extra supplies on this trip. The choice of departure location is yours.

Day 1: Arrive in the community, check into your cabin and plan to go fishing for the afternoon. A dinner either at your location or at the cabin will be prepared for you by our qualified guides.
Day 2: We will take a tour of the community to allow you time to learn about our culture and visit some of our recent developments. In the afternoon and evening we will arrange for a visit by our elders and other community members to provide you with the opportunity to learn how we used to undertake activities in the past. You will have the opportunity of seeing how craft items were made in the past, and have the opportunity of meeting these creative individuals. A traditional meal will also be prepared for you. You will get to try your hand at making bannock!
Day 3: A morning and early afternoon of fishing and transportation to the airport for your return flight.

Coomb Lake - 5 Day Angling Cultural Tour Package
$1,260 per person (maximum of 4 persons allowed due to flight restrictions to Coomb Lake)
Package includes flight via Nakina Air Service from Thunder Bay or Nakina direct to Webequie. Transportation from the airport to our office is provided as well as transportation to the float plane base.
The price also includes your return float plane trip to Coomb Lake.

You are allowed 60 pounds of gear per person. Excess gear will be charged at a rate of $1.40 per pound from Thunder Bay to only $0.40 per pound from Nakina. Plan carefully, and you will meet your weight limit. This weight limit is fine for the float plane.
Day 1: Arrive in the community, fly to Coomb Lake (approximately 30 minutes) check into your cabin and plan to go fishing or exploring for the afternoon. A dinner at the cabin will be prepared for you by our qualified guides.
Day 2: We have planned this day to explore the small river systems in the area and to fish when we have time. There are plenty of opportunities for photography or just site seeing. We have canoes available for your use and you may want to explore the lake on your own.
Day 3: You have the choice of either going fishing or further exploring the area. Our guides will transport you to for site seeing or just exploring. Return in the evening to your cabin on Winisk Lake. All meals will be prepared by our guides.
Day 4: If you decided to go fishing on day 3, this day will be our exploring trip. Our guides will take you to very interesting sites. If you want to go fishing we can arrange for walleye or pike to challenge your skills. You will return in the evening to your cabin.
Day 5: Return float plane trip to Webequie and transportation to the airport for your return flight. If time permits, we maybe able to arrange for a tour of the community.
Optional Packages
For the Winisk Lake site, you will have the opportunity of spending one or more nights in a tent, accompanied by our guides. All meals will be prepared by our guides as in the traditional package.
Transportation will be via freighter canoe or aluminum boat. This package will allow your explore a broader area around Webequie or to fish for different species.
We will tailor the trip to your specifications, depending on what your require.
The rates are the same as those for our 3 day or 5 day packages.
